| Let Kids Start Drinking at 18: Brooklyn Pol A Brooklyn assemblyman plans to introduce a controversial bill to lower the drinking age from 21 to 18, The Post has learned. "These kids are drinking already," he said. Ortiz knows the bill will bring howls of protest and has no chance of passing this year. But he said it could be the first step in a campaign that could take years, similar to his successful effort to enact a ban on cell-phone use while driving.
